Holi Holidays - Gifts, Colors and Lots of Sweets - A Very Happy Holi to You

Gifts - Beautiful handwoven fruit baskets are very useful when it comes to giving gifts to your beloved ones on Holi. They are also very useful for keeping sweets, dry fruits and fruits. We are planning to send dry fruits to our friends in these baskets.

Sweets - Guziya is the most important sweet for Holi. No Holi celebration is complete without Gujhiya or Guziya and so you must learn how to make Guziya at home in order to celebrate Holi Desi Style. Popular Indian Chef Sanjiv Kapoor demonstrates how in a Gujiya recipe here.

There is a dedicated Wikipedia page for those who are unaware about the importance of Guziya on Holi : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gujia

Colors-

Travel Pouches, Coin Purses, Bags ... A New Range of Tribal HandiCrafts

At DesiCrafts, we create, collect and appreciate. It was the month of February, when we visited Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and many other beautiful parts of India. During our visit to villages in different places, we found some really interesting handmade craft items. At many places, seeing people working was so delightful and motivating that we couldn't stop ourselves and extended our stay just to learn how these crafts are made. We also bought beautiful handmade items directly from local Non-Government Organizations and self help groups (NGOs) and also from the artisan families. In next few posts, we'll be posting pictures and write-up about new collection of handicraft items that we have collected from different parts of India this month.

We have a whole new lot of beautiful tribal goodies from Madhya Pradesh, India. You can find these beautiful handcrafted coin purses, travel pouches and more at our website: www.desicraftshop.com

To buy these pouches, please visit our Bags and Purses section. Also, please keep visiting our website because we have just started updating our stock and we'll be updating more soon! Block printed Kantha Pouch
